James frazer end of trait for the viewer the first he sees the status as '' an image of ashamed, defeated Indian.'' that exactly the same feeling that I had when I saw the sculpture before I read his comments all the way to the end. Because the statue represents a soldier on his horse holding his daughter or a random young girl they all looking down. That is not really how we would represent resistance when you first see the statue resistane is not what will come into your mind directly. But later in the story, she said '' End of the Trail Screenprinted on flags used in ceremonies honoring veterans and prisoners of war.''' That gave us another view of the sculpture because making a statue of a soldier strong and ready to go defend his territory is what everyone would expect but by doing this sad and strong image of a soldier in despair he catches people's attention. Plus the soldier still has his weapon on his other arm there no other sign of resistance than this image. Despite the pain the shame he never let his weapon fell down he holds it as a sign of resistance.
