From the headline to the the news session itself they cover the I Iraq war as it was during that time its actual real news information from that  about that war that Happened 10 years ago and it's really treated in different angle and what I really noticed during the presentation of the show is that there are advertising, commercial it was included in the the news I found it interesting between two raids of the US Army they put on a commercial of chocolate or between an intervention of Saddam Hussein they had a commercial soul of cartoon also this war was consider...
The wasted land is a documentary of Vick Muniz a Brazilian artist that describes himself in the documentary as a poor boy that had grown up with nothing and end up to be one of the best selling artists in brazil. The wasted land was release in 2010 it was shot in Jardim Gramacho, one of the world's largest landfills located in Rio de Janeiro Brazil, where men and women gather to recycle garbage. To have a better opinion of the situation Vick flew to brazil to see the situation himself and he said in the documentary that “I was expecting to see people who were beaten and broken. But they are survivors.” By watching the documentary we can see that these people are very proud there is violence everywhere near them they could choose the easy way like everyone and be a gang member or prostitute but instead, they are collecting garbage to earn their lives worthily. By spending time there with them Vick will pick some and make a portrait of them throughout the documentary. His objective...
For this week's assignment, i decide to talk about the photographer Zanelle Moholi. Zanelle Moholi is an amazing South African photographer and also an activist that try to tell stories from the picture she took. In most of her works, she tries to put light on subjects that are taboo or subject to controversy in her country. In Somnyama Ngonyama a series of pictures she did, on one of the portraits she wears bike tubes around her neck and head as a jewel but she is trying to talk about apartheid in South Africa where black people were just taken put bike tire around their neck and burn. Apartheid is a dark period of South African history where segregated and discriminated. A lot of color folks died during that time. And there are sensible subjects even in today's South Africa. But as a committed artist, these are The tough subject Zanelle Moholi cover on some of her artworks. Another hot t subject in South Africa but also in Africa is the treatment of gays and lesbians ther...
Hi professor i modify my photo collage and here is the result.
One of the paintings that I liked at the MoMA was gold Marilyn Monroe by Andy Warhol. Andy Warhol is the one the creator of the pop art movement. The reason I choose this painting is that it is more recent it’s up to date compared to other movements like renaissance or impressionism. And the painting is addressed to society it’s a self-portrait of Marilyn Monroe. Marilyn Monroe was a huge celebrity in the fifties. The painting was made by andy Warhol the year Marilyn Monroe committed suicide in 1968. After world war II since the European countries were ruined by the war, the united states economy was at it best we assisted to a boom of manufacturing, mass media, consumer society, and artist works are influenced by what they see in society and that what brings the pop art movement art for the population. The second painting  that I really like at the museum is the ‘’ Dance’’ painting of Matisse. We saw the painting in our lecture class, but the painting really looks better...
The idea on this photo montage is to create illusion you can see a shadow of a human that a dog is trying to bite the hand.Or a dog being scold by his master
Among the twentieth century’s most influential art photographers, Edward Weston (United States, 1886–1958) is widely respected for his many contributions to the field of photography. Along with Ansel Adams, Weston pioneered a modernist style characterized by the use of a large-format camera to create sharply focused and richly detailed black-and-white photographs. The combination of Weston’s stark objectivity and his passionate love of nature and form gave his still lifes, portraits, landscapes, and nudes qualities that seemed particularly suited for expressing the new American lifestyle and aesthetic that emerged from California and the West between the two world wars. He spent the years 1923–1926 in Mexico City as a part of an international milieu of creative minds attracted by the post-revolutionary excitement of political activists and artists such as Diego Rivera, Jose Clemente Orozco, Tina Modotti, and others. From the moment he returned to the United States, he began maki...
IMPRESSIONIST In Impressionist painters, they were using light in the majority of their paintings. To create different effects on their paintings.  Another important aspect of impressionist painting is that they all had a message behind them. The artist describes something in his painting always try to send a moral message through their painting.  Most importantly the invention of photographs happens during the impressionist time so that discovery has a huge impact on impressionism.  At that time artist has different pigments that they were using in their painting. And that made a big difference in their art pieces. From the MET website one thing that I see that wasn't mentioned in the video is that impressionism painter was audacious. Edo...
In this poster my idea was to show the impact of pollution on African countries because they are the one that are living, facing this directly. So I use a red background then on top left of the poster I write a text that says '' Because of this'' and right next to this text i use two image of a factory and cars emitting toxic gases. In the middle of the poster i use Africa map where i had a picture of drough. Under that its  a picture of young African Kids suffering of famine. Under that image i use a picture of a burning forest and at the bottom a picture of floods. All these images represent the effect of pollution on Africa. Right next to it i had a text where i quote'' We are loosing Africa.'' On the bottom left of the poster i use an image of people using bikes instead of their car and right next to that picture i write a text that says '' let's change our habits'' the message here is if we want to reduce pollution, we have t...
The first painting was made during renaissance time (1400-1550) it represent a man praying. In the painting, we can see an old man with his fingers crossed. During the renaissance, the Catholic Church was really powerful   and they were asking painters to paint for them and most of these painting was influenced by the church sot they were using a lot of religious symbols related to Christianism, This painting is called men in prayer and it was painted by Robert Campin between 1430-1435 Robert Campin was from Netherland he was a great master of early Netherland painting.  In the second portrait the first thing we notice that the man is not praying there is no religious representation on the piece of art. That period represents the end of the renaissance and the beginning of another period call baroque (1550-1605). Pieces of Baroque art are different from renaissance first because civilians could ...
1-Artist unify their artwork by using different figures, different shape in their artworks also another technique that artist use is repetition using a letter or a number or any type of figure to create something unique like in Charle Demuth painting ‘’ I saw the figure five in gold.’’ where he uses the number 5 a lot of  time to create an effect on the painting. Artist often uses colors and pattern to unify their artwork, Math is also use through geometry symmetry by different artists.  Another way that artist unify their artwork that is not mentioned in the video could be the support used by a painting artist some people use a different type of material to paint to create something different in Africa some artist use animal skin to paint on. Some use sand to draw they are differents techniques that artists use to unify their artwork. 2- Artist creates asymmetrical balance by using effectively space on their artwork an example of that is degas painting called the rehearsal...
James frazer end of trait for the viewer the first he sees the status as '' an image of ashamed, defeated Indian.'' that exactly the same feeling that I had when I saw the sculpture before I read his comments all the way to the end. Because the statue represents a soldier on his horse holding his daughter or a random  young girl they all looking down. That is not really how we would represent resistance when you first see the statue resistane is not what will come into your mind directly. But later in the story, she said ''  End of the Trail  Screenprinted on flags used in ceremonies honoring veterans and prisoners of war.''' That gave us another view of the sculpture because making a statue of a soldier strong and ready to go defend his territory is what everyone would expect but by doing this sad and strong image of a soldier in despair he catches people's attention. Plus the soldier still has his weapon on his other arm there no other sign o...

He told me he will go get some food and we will go look for a hotel. When I get in the taxi the driver feels that I was freezing he pull up the heat and when I get back to my normal state I ask him i...
